Today i have done more research about building bridges and structures, i spent the morning trying to find out which were the best ways to connect different parts of the bridges together. I tried using string and weaving card board together which was effective but when working with younger children this would probably take too long and they may find this difficult.
However, i found that tape was a lot more effective as its easy for the children to use and would take less time, it is also great for securing the bottoms of the structures. I have attached a picture of a bridge i made which i thought i may try but with using masking tape instead of string when i go to work with the children at the school.
You have conducted some really interesting experiments. You have managed to put yourself in the children's shoes and really think about how they learn and what they are capable of. You have managed to combine education with fun very well.
